INHOUSE was set up in 2000 by Mary Dobson, who has been working in the industry since 1994.

We offer a discreet, bespoke service for discerning employers within private households and prestigious private establishments. We specialise in the very highest calibre of domestic staff on a full time, part time or on a temporary basis both in the UK and Internationally.

We offer a quality service to both clients and staff and will not waste your time by sending unsuitable applicants nor waste the applicant’s time by sending them for unsuitable posts.

After establishing your requirements we provide you with a selection of suitable candidates from our extensive database. For each candidate we endeavor to produce résumé outlining a candidate’s details and include a photograph. Once you have chosen the right candidates we will arrange the interviews on your behalf.

We are seeking a kind and friendly housekeeper who is naturally well-presented to work alongside 1 other housekeeper, in a beautiful duplex, penthouse apartment in Battersea.

The apartment is vast, and includes numerous bedroom suites, reception rooms, formal dining-room, family kitchen, expansive outdoor terraces etc.

The Patrons are retired, and wish to enjoy their home to the maximum, therefore they are looking for a focussed, motivated and conscientious housekeeper, who can work diligently, delivering practiced, high standards of housekeeping.

The Role: To maintain and apartment in pristine condition. Candidates must show enthusiasm for their work and exhibit a practiced, keen eye-for-detail, strive for perfect results and take the old fashioned approach that “if they do a job, it should be done properly”!


  • Ensuring that the apartment is perfectly presented;
  • Oversee all aspects of general housekeeping and deep cleaning, including care for fine furniture and surfaces, art, antiques, soft furnishings and the polishing of and care for all silver, brass, china, etc;

Housekeeper – live out Knightsbridge

We’re looking for a full time housekeeper for a substantial property in Knightsbridge. / The nearest station is Knightsbridge or South Kensington

The role is full time, five days a week, nine hours a day on a rota system.

The client is an UHNW lady with two teenage children, two dogs and a very busy life. She demands the highest standards, privacy and happy smiley people. She likes positive energy.

The house is not formal, however very, very high standards are kept.

The role includes all general house keeping duties, laundry, simple breakfast prep, very occasional cooking would be a bonus (although we have a chef). We are looking for someone with great experience at this level who can hit the ground running. A proven track record across multiple properties is a must.

The house is fully staffed with three housekeepers, head housekeeper, chef, drivers, security, maintenance and house manager. We muck in as a team and get the job done. We have a great positive core team and all get along really well. ​

We’re really looking for a great housekeeper, so we are willing to go higher in salary – right up to £50k for the right candidate, however, to achieve this top salary they must be truly top of their game. More realistically, we’d pay £40+ something, for a solid housekeeper with good all round skills and  the right can do attitude, who is prepared to learn skills when needed, and can show that they enjoy being part of a team

Note. The house does provide service throughout the day, so there is a shift system in place, 5 shifts per week (2 days off per week) each shift is 9 hours, weekends are shared, first shift starts at about 08:00, while the last shift starts at about 13:00 and finishes at 22:00. (Just occasionally there might be a 06:30 start)

French Native Speaking Nanny:  Family based in London N2

Our client is looking for  a residential nanny based in London N2 working a Rota (2 weeks living in/2 weeks off) French Native Nanny for her 2 daughters.

A UK-based family living in London is looking for an experienced and qualified nanny/ governess to work with 2 girls aged 9 and 11.

The candidate should speak native-level French and be experienced in teaching, as well as have a competent level of English to cope with living and working in London.

The ideal candidate should be mature and well-educated, ideally with a minimum of 7-8 years’ childcare experience. The governess should be warm-hearted, naturally great with kids, flexible, and caring.

There will be light housework around the children, not as major as a family has full-time housekeeper, helping with dressing, picking, and dropping to school, preparing a light meal, planning activities, helping with homework.

The schedule for this position is ROTA; 2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off. The candidate will be provided with a separate room in the family home.

The family enjoys travelling around the UK and plans to travel internationally when restrictions are lifted. The nanny would be expected to travel with the family in these circumstances.

The salary on offer for this position is based on 250 GBP nett/working day.

Job Description

A highly experienced Head Gardener with an accredited horticultural qualification (Level 3 or above) is sought to play a leading role on a stunning and historic 200-acre private estate in Ascot, Berkshire.

This position would suit a proactive, committed, and hands-on Head Gardener who has demonstrable experience of working within a large estate team. Expertise in garden design, woodland management, project procurement, safe working practices, and garden machinery and licensing are essential.

The Head Gardener will lead and manage a committed team of 10, to ensure that the gardens and wider estate are maintained to the highest possible standards. The ability to motivate and support the development of the existing team is highly desirable. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Head Gardener will be required to manage external contractors and to work alongside landscape architects where necessary. As Head Gardener you will oversee the garden budget, maintenance schedules, and seasonal planting plans.

The Head Gardener will be expected to brief the Principal on garden projects on a regular basis, so discretion and good communication skills are necessary.

The estate encompasses approximately 60-acres of Grade I listed gardens, grass tennis courts, an outdoor swimming pool, rose garden, potager, large greenhouse and woodland glade. In addition to the main estate, the Head Gardener will also be responsible for overseeing the management of small ornamental gardens at the Principal’s London townhouse.

Our clients are returning to their London home after a period of absence, so they are looking to supplement the existing household team with an efficient, quick-thinking, proactive Daily Housekeeper, who is able to work proactively and methodically. It is vital that candidates show they can follow instruction and that they will work harmoniously alongside an established team of staff.

This formally styled, beautiful, contemporary private home close to Kensington High St & Holland Park boasts high-design interiors, airy reception rooms and bedroom suites, an indoor swimming pool, gym & spa, media room and formal gardens being meticulous, sharp-eyed and detail-orientated, with a friendly character and a vocational approach to their work and career. It is also expected that candidates show the highest level of discretion, and they must be backed up by excellent, checkable references.

The type of duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Maintain all areas in a clean, tidy and in the prescribed sanitised fashion
  • Wipe, wash, dust, polish, sweep and vacuum all areas
  • Service, clean, polish fittings and hard finishes, tidy and sanitise bathrooms and cloakrooms
  • Clean and polish mirrors and windows
  • Methodically and accurately label and sort items for washing, following care instructions, to ensure items are either machine or hand-washed or sent for dry cleaning
  • Iron, press & valet items, folding or hanging as appropriate, before returning to the rightful place
  • Empty, wipe clean and sanitise trash cans
  • Ensure client instructions and requests are understood and properly followed
  • Maintain a proper and correct level of stock of cleaning items
  • Use housekeeping equipment correctly and ensure it is always in good working order, with fluff-filters regularly cleaned, their surfaces wiped, and vacuum bags replaced and filters washed and properly dried before re-use. Report maintenance issues immediately to superior
  • Maintain immaculate, tidy and organised storage areas
  • Assist other staff members, such as the chef, especially during meal times

Our client, a working mum and dad with 3 boys aged 5, 12 & 14 years old are seeking a good all rounder to manage this busy household and the 3 boys. Requirements as follows:

You will have an honest, kind, confident and proven experience in childcare

  • Tend to all childcare and school related duties along with household management keeping things ticking over, shopping, ordering, contractors etc.
  • Drop off and pick up from schools, social activities, liaise with school, emails, appointments, wardrobes, tidy kids rooms etc.
  • There is a part time cleaner who will do the hard cleaning however it would be expected that you have a ‘muck in’ attitude ie empty dishwasher, wipe down sinks, light sweep etc keeping the house tidy in between cleaner’s visits.
  • You will also have good family cooking skills to ensure mainly, the boys are looked after and something left for the parents.
  • Current lady is now studying at university, and after 3 years is leaving.
  • Driver a plus, but not a deal breaker.
  • No pets in household – highly allergic household.
  • Must have recent and checkable references and DBS (or willing to apply).
