INHOUSE was set up in 2000 by Mary Dobson, who has been working in the industry since 1994.

We offer a discreet, bespoke service for discerning employers within private households and prestigious private establishments. We specialise in the very highest calibre of domestic staff on a full time, part time or on a temporary basis both in the UK and Internationally.

We can assist with all staffing needs, however large or small. We have successfully supplied candidates to professional city-dwelling families, working country estates, stately homes, holiday villas and ocean going yachts.

How We Work

We offer a quality service to both clients and staff and will not waste your time by sending unsuitable applicants nor waste the applicant’s time by sending them for unsuitable posts.

After establishing your requirements we provide you with a selection of suitable candidates from our extensive database. For each candidate we endeavor to produce résumé outlining a candidate’s details and include a photograph. Once you have chosen the right candidates we will arrange the interviews on your behalf.

All our applicants have gone through our rigorous process of personal interview, reference and previous employment history verification. They must have at least two years experience and / or relevant professional qualifications. We ensure that all applicants have legal rights to work in the UK.

Housekeeper/Cook live in

A live in cook/housekeeper is required to work for a couple based in Hampstead. Five day week.

Can be Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Sunday. Start time 8 a.m. a break during the day,    This is a five bedroom house all with ensuite bathrooms, over three floors.

Duties include keeping the house clean, carrying out all laundry, walking a small dog on the Hampstead Heath, the family are based next to the Heath.  Preparing breakfast which is usually just fruit and coffee/tea. Cooking a healthy dinner for the couple. The lady of the house works a few days in the week and leaves early so you would not be expected to prepare breakfast on those days.

The current housekeeper has been with them for some years but now wishes to live out, the require start date would be around Easter.

Own room and ensuite bathroom provided.

 

£600 net per week (negotiable)

Daily Housekeeper

A delightful couple who are moving into their newly refurbished property in Belgravia are seeking a second housekeeper to work alongside the Head Housekeeper, who has been with them for twenty years.

To start early January. Would suit someone mid thirties to forties as there are a lot of stairs.

General housekeeping duties, washing and ironing, general cleaning of the property, shopping, some cooking maybe involved but currently the Head Housekeeper cooks the meals for the couple who vegan.  There is a delightful dog, so the applicant must be dog friendly, there is no dog walking involved.

Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5p.m.  There would be the odd occasion when the candidate would be required to work later if there were a dinner party.

40K plus per annum plus overtime

Housekeeper – live out Knightsbridge

We’re looking for a full time housekeeper for a substantial property in Knightsbridge. / The nearest station is Knightsbridge or South Kensington

The role is full time, five days a week, nine hours a day on a rota system.

The client is an UHNW lady with two teenage children, two dogs and a very busy life. She demands the highest standards, privacy and happy smiley people. She likes positive energy.

The house is not formal, however very, very high standards are kept.

The role includes all general house keeping duties, laundry, simple breakfast prep, very occasional cooking would be a bonus (although we have a chef). We are looking for someone with great experience at this level who can hit the ground running. A proven track record across multiple properties is a must.

The house is fully staffed with three housekeepers, head housekeeper, chef, drivers, security, maintenance and house manager. We muck in as a team and get the job done. We have a great positive core team and all get along really well. ​

We’re really looking for a great housekeeper, so we are willing to go higher in salary – right up to £50k for the right candidate, however, to achieve this top salary they must be truly top of their game. More realistically, we’d pay £40+ something, for a solid housekeeper with good all round skills and  the right can do attitude, who is prepared to learn skills when needed, and can show that they enjoy being part of a team

Note. The house does provide service throughout the day, so there is a shift system in place, 5 shifts per week (2 days off per week) each shift is 9 hours, weekends are shared, first shift starts at about 08:00, while the last shift starts at about 13:00 and finishes at 22:00. (Just occasionally there might be a 06:30 start)

The client loves staff who can show longevity and some nice work experience gathered in respected households and some deluxe hotel experience may be useful too

 

Nanny

Our client, a working mum and dad with 3 boys aged 5, 12 & 14 years old are seeking a good all rounder to manage this busy household and the 3 boys. Requirements as follows:

You will have an honest, kind, confident and proven experience in childcare

  • Tend to all childcare and school related duties along with household management keeping things ticking over, shopping, ordering, contractors etc.
  • Drop off and pick up from schools, social activities, liaise with school, emails, appointments, wardrobes, tidy kids rooms etc.
  • There is a part time cleaner who will do the hard cleaning however it would be expected that you have a ‘muck in’ attitude ie empty dishwasher, wipe down sinks, light sweep etc keeping the house tidy in between cleaner’s visits.
  • You will also have good family cooking skills to ensure mainly, the boys are looked after and something left for the parents.
  • Current lady is now studying at university, and after 3 years is leaving.
  • Driver a plus, but not a deal breaker.
  • No pets in household – highly allergic household.
  • Must have recent and checkable references and DBS (or willing to apply).
  • Hours Monday to Friday 8am to 7pm. Salary negotiable £550 – 600 npwk / upto £42,000 gross pa. Start 1st October

A flexible Housekeeper/Cook required to start in September 2021.

A young, creative family who have two children, aged 14 and 12, are looking for a calm, intelligent, experienced Housekeeper/Cook, who would be confident looking after two children when the parents are away for short periods, as well as being happy to work in a shared charge environment.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 10:00am – 7:00pm. Some weekday sole charge of the two children will be required. You will be informed of this the week before and will be paid as overtime at your hourly rate.

Job Description

The first half of the 9-hour shift will focus on housekeeping duties, including: cleaning, laundry, ironing, keeping wardrobes organised along with food and ingredient shopping and some food preparation for the kids’ supper.

The second half of the shift will require the housekeeper to focus on picking the children up from school, helping structure homework, overseeing dental/medical appointments, preparing and cooking a simple healthy family styled supper, and organising bath and bedtime when the parents are not at home – some occasional child sitting will be required.

Someone with a ‘can do’ attitude who is happy to work in a fast-paced environment with exceptional attention to detail.

House Manager – Knightsbridge Live in or Live out

 

HOUSE MANAGER

Ideal Candidate:

The role would suit someone who is energetic, resourceful,  proactive, who has a good analytical mind  and who  is great at problem solving.   She/he  will be pleasant, positive, polished, resilient and a self-starter,  a born organiser with excellent time management and multi-tasking skills,  along with the ability to think on her/his feet and troubleshoot whilst staying calm and focused.  She/he would always maintain the highest  standards of confidentiality, exercise discretion and protect family privacy.

The ideal candidate  would be good at anticipating issues and  resourceful, with the attitude that nothing is impossible. And she/he would have a keen eye for detail and take a hands-on approach, ensuring that each task  –  from the most challenging to the most mundane –   is handled efficiently and effectively.

Illustrative  tasks the role would involve:

  • Manage the seamless running of the household, including all staff duties and their hours
  • Manage the admin for the household ensuring all is up to date and date compliant
  • Ensure the property is secure when owners are away and when you leave
  • Manage and provide personal support to the family to ensure smooth running of all family and household affairs to the highest quality
  • Manage household credit card and cash account and ensure compliance with household budget
  • Ensure the house is maintained to a high standard at all times and everything in working order
  • Liaise direct with owners and their Personal Assistants to ensure the diary appointments are met
  • Ensure that household expenditures are necessary and reasonable, representing value for money
  • Organise and oversee occasional events, dinners and drinks parties, whether at the house or elsewhere
  • Welcome guests to the houses, making sure they are comfortable and well looked after
  • Book hotels / restaurant and transport for owners-upon request
  • Run household errands as requested by owners
  • Oversee household shopping and ensure cost effective shopping.
  • Maintain a motivated and efficient team of household staff, and when applicable recruit new staff and train them in relation to their duties
  • Ensure there is replacement cover during any times of illness and staff holiday

Work Pattern:

  • Generally, working hours Monday-Friday 0930-1800 at the household in Knightsbridge. The household will be your normal place of work.  However, you may be asked to accompany the owners on trips from time to time or to travel alone.
  • Your hours of work will vary according to the weekly schedule, and you will be expected to work such hours as are reasonably required to perform your role and responsibilities. Hours will vary when owners are at the house.
  • The owners travel often throughout the year, and during this time the House Manager will take their holiday up to a maximum allowance of 30 days per year
