About Us

INHOUSE was set up in 2000 by Mary Dobson, who has been working in the industry since 1994.

We offer a discreet, bespoke service for discerning employers within private households and prestigious private establishments. We specialise in the very highest calibre of domestic staff on a full time, part time or on a temporary basis both in the UK and Internationally.

We can assist with all staffing needs, however large or small. We have successfully supplied candidates to professional city-dwelling families, working country estates, stately homes, holiday villas and ocean going yachts.

How We Work

We offer a quality service to both clients and staff and will not waste your time by sending unsuitable applicants nor waste the applicant’s time by sending them for unsuitable posts.

After establishing your requirements we provide you with a selection of suitable candidates from our extensive database. For each candidate we endeavor to produce résumé outlining a candidate’s details and include a photograph. Once you have chosen the right candidates we will arrange the interviews on your behalf.

Safeguards

All our applicants have gone through our rigorous process of personal interview, reference and previous employment history verification. They must have at least two years experience and / or relevant professional qualifications. We ensure that all applicants have legal rights to work in the UK.

All written references are personally verbally endorsed before any candidate would be considered for any suitable vacancy.

We pride ourselves on attention to detail and being fully up to date with all aspects of domestic service employment issues.

It is our policy to follow up on our candidate’s progress and we are always available to discuss any issues, should the need arise. We offer a guarantee period during which we offer replacement staff as detailed in our Terms of Business.

Recent Vacancies

Nanny – live in – Notting Hill Gate

An opportunity has arisen to work for a lovely family of four based in Notting Hill.

The family consists of two adults and two boys aged two and a half and four and a half.  Both attend school nearby.

There is a daily housekeeper employed from 10 a.m. to 2p.m. Monday to Friday and also a weekend nanny/hk.

Start time 7a.m. getting the boys up and ready for school, carrying out all nursery duties, preparing health food (which sometimes may include the whole family), help with the other housekeeper doing general housekeeping duties.

Must be able to travel with family during school holidays. If the applicant can speak any Spanish that would be a plus.

Accommodation comprises of bedroom and ensuite not the top floor of this four storey house.

Occasional babysitting required.  Monday to Friday.  To start around 10th August.

£550 net per week

Travelling Valet

An elderly businessman  is looking for a travelling valet to join his long serving existing team.

Destinations include London, a country estate in Berkshire (UK), Paris, Monaco, Geneva, Marbella and New York.  Travel is generally by Private Jet, and when not staying in one of his own homes, the client always stays in the worlds leading hotels (as will the valet).

The gentleman is renowned for his immaculate presentation and so assured and proven valet skills are vital..

Classis Valet responsibilities, include: organising the personal needs of the client, the client general travels with 14 suitcases (which include coffee machine, preferred washing powders, steamers etc, along with his clothes) so this role involves inventorying, packing, unpacking, managing luggage, valeting, managing table and drink service and personal laundry.  When he is staying in one of his homes, his wife’s team tends to take over, so this is when the valets can step back and/or take time off.  The valet’s home base can be anywhere, as the client will provide accommodation and/or fly staff back home for holidays and longer periods of rest.

His previous valet was with him for 30  years and is only stepping down due to ill health, the remaining valet has been with him for 17 years.  His house staff generally stay for very long periods.

The role will require very close co-operation with the other valet, so there will need to be an understanding of the importance of precedence, the existing valet is a very nice man and has been in the business for a long time. The new valet will be an assistant to the valet.  Must hold British or European passport to enable easy travel.

Live in Nanny/Housekeeper, Knightsbridge

A delightful family of four based in Knightsbridge, London are seeking a residential nanny/housekeeper to replace their current employee who is leaving at the end of June.

They have two boys aged four and seven who go to school locally.  The day starts around 7.15 when the children get up for school, you would be required to assist them in getting ready and preparing a breakfast which is usually cereal or toast.  The mother takes the boys to school.

Duties are cleaning the boys rooms and doing their laundry, general housekeeping of the house, cleaning the kitchen, reception room, and bedrooms and bathrooms.  All laundry is done in house.

There is another part time housekeeper who comes in for six hours a day on Monday, Wednesday, Friday to do the deep cleaning.

The mother does the cooking, so you will only be asked to cook the occasional supper which is around 6.15pm, the principals require someone to work Monday to Saturday morning, you would finish at 1pm and have the rest of the day and Sunday off.

They have a house in the South of France and travel there during school holidays, so candidate would accompany the family during these visits. Must hold a British or European passport to enable easy travel.

Accommodation comprises of a bedroom with ensuite.

Nanny (two nannies)

Our male clients are expecting their first child (a girl) in April.  They have a maternity nurse, and are seeking two nannies to take over in August.

It would be working, ten days on and ten days off.

They require one nanny who is fluent in English and Spanish, and another who is fluent in English and French.

They spend equal time in their three residences, Holland Park London, Monoco, and Manhattan.

Good accommodation is provided in all three residences.

Must have at least three years previous experience working with young babies and checkable references.

They are seeking someone who has a warm friendly demeanour who would fit in with the family.

Excellent salary

Housekeeper, Burnham, Berkshire, live in or live out

Two housekeepers required for a couple living in Berkshire.  This could be a live in or live out role.

The house comprises of four bedrooms, two family rooms, cinema, family kitchen, two gyms, indoor swimming pool and two studies.

There is mainly one occupier in permanent residence, plus an old English Sheep Dog puppy.

There are two other housekeepers and a chef, and superintendent employed so you will be joining an established team.  The accommodation for living in, is in the main house and comprises of a bedroom and ensuite, with a separate entrance.

The role is a five day week, forty hours.  It is on a rota basis so you would be required to work some weekends.  The Head Housekeeper does the rota once a month.

8a.m. – 4.30 pm

9a.m. – 5.30 pm

1p.m. – 9.30 pm

Duties are general housekeeping, laundry, caring for wardrobe etc., setting up the table for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving lunch and dinner.

You would be required to take the dog out and feeding him in rotation with other members of staff.

£30k per annum.  Any extra hours worked will be paid overtime.

A Housekeeper/Nanny required to start as soon as possible based in Notting Hill Gate, London.

The family consist of two adults and a toddler of nearly two years of age, a new baby is due in April.

The role consists of sixty per cent housekeeping and forty percent child care.  9.30 to 6.30 Monday to Friday.

This is a two bedroom property, the rest is open plan, laundry and keeping the apartment clean and tidy, assisting with the welfare of the young child, taking him to play dates and the park and preparing meals for him, some babysitting requited,

Family are young and not formal.
