About Us

INHOUSE was set up in 2000 by director, Mary Dobson, who has been working in the industry since 1994.

We offer a discreet, bespoke service for discerning employers within private households and prestigious private establishments. We specialise in the very highest calibre of domestic staff on a full time, part time or on a temporary basis both in the UK and Internationally.

We can assist with all staffing needs, however large or small. We have successfully supplied candidates to professional city-dwelling families, working country estates, stately homes, holiday villas and ocean going yachts.

How We Work

We offer a quality service to both clients and staff and will not waste your time by sending unsuitable applicants nor waste the applicant’s time by sending them for unsuitable posts.

After establishing your requirements we provide you with a selection of suitable candidates from our extensive database. For each candidate we endeavor to produce résumé outlining a candidate’s details and include a photograph. Once you have chosen the right candidates we will arrange the interviews on your behalf.

Safeguards

All our applicants have gone through our rigorous process of personal interview, reference and previous employment history verification. They must have at least two years experience and / or relevant professional qualifications. We ensure that all applicants have legal rights to work in the UK.

All written references are personally verbally endorsed before any candidate would be considered for any suitable vacancy.

We pride ourselves on attention to detail and being fully up to date with all aspects of domestic service employment issues.

Recent Vacancies

Cook/Housekeeper

An experienced cook/housekeeper required for a  delightful old INHOUSE client. Have kept previous staff for 20 years.

Based in a large flat in Knightsbridge, the couple seek a very good cook with some housekeeping duties.  A daily housekeeper is currently employed and has been with the family for sometime.

The candidate would be required to clean the principals bedroom, bathroom, and be able to do some laundry/ironing.

Breakfast is not required, if the lady of the house is home for lunch it would usually be a salad.  For dinner the couple like a wide and varied cuisine.  If they entertain for large dinner parties, help is brought in.

Accommodation consists of bedroom/bathroom/sitting room which is situated at the other end of the flat.

Start at the beginning of October.

Head Housekeeper – Switzerland

Head Housekeeper/Personal Valet to the Lady of the house.  Based in the Swiss Romande Alps region.

Working for the lady of the house and will be in charge of the overall housekeeping of the home and act as personal valet.

Duties, include tidiness and organisation of the home, oversee the housekeeping team and ensure the house is cleaned and organised to an impeccable standard.

Ensure the h/keeping team tends to the individual needs of the master of the house and other family members.

 

Oversee all laundry work with the team and external suppliers.  Luggage packing and unpacking, assist and liaise with the personal shopper and personal assistants of the lady.

You are required to of had previous experience in housekeeping management and personal valet service, are rigorous, discreet and trustworthy, be flexible and available to work on different sites.

Butler

A private family based in the Swiss Romande Alps region is looking for an experienced, focused, agreeable and driven junior butler.  Must be fluent in French and English, Italian an asset. Would suit someone in their early thirties.

He/she will be required to provide outstanding service to the changing needs of the family, anticipating the needs of the principals, liaising with the other staff, including kitchen and h/keeping teams as well as P.A’s of the principals and other departments.

Provide hands on service daily in other areas such as h/keeping, cleaning and setups of outdoors and indoors.  Answering to the Head Butler, this position is part of a team.  Carrying out white gloved food and beverage service for all meals.

Applicant must have previous verifiable butler experience, speak and write French and English to the highest level.

Nanny / Housekeeper – Holland Park, London

A live in Nanny/Housekeeper required for a delightful young family based in Holland Park.

They currently have one young child aged three and a half and are expecting their second child in December.  Both parents work full time, although after the birth of their baby at the end of the year, the mother intends to spend a bit more time at home.

The ideal candidate will have a good back ground as a nanny and been used to working on their own, and have experience with babies, it would be helpful if they could drive or be willing to learn. General housekeeping duties required.

The young child  currently goes to nursery school in the afternoons, in September she will be going for two full days as well.  The morning consists of getting the little girl up and giving her breakfast, she has different activities she attends to in the mornings. She attends nursery from 1 pm to 4pm.

A daily housekeeper is employed four days a week and has been with the family for ten years.

This is residential post and accommodation is provided in the basement of this six storey house, it consists of bedroom/bathroom and kitchen and is totally separate.  The family travel to Sweden for four weeks in the summer time and the nanny/hk would be required to go with them.

To start in mid August, although if the right applicant were available now, an earlier start could be arranged.

£600 net per week

Daily Housekeeper – Mayfair, London

A daily housekeeper required to work for a family of four who are not always in residence.

The house is a large property with a mews attached.  The candidate would be in charge of the running of the house, making sure the house is cleaned to a high standard, duties include, washing and ironing, although all bedding goes to cleaners, vacumming, dusting, polishing, making sure the fridge is stocked when the family are in residence, it would also be helpful if the candidate were able to cook a healthy meal for the family if required.

This would suit someone who is self motivated and happy to work on their own initiative, there is a part time daily housekeeper who works two mornings a week.  This is a six storey house so requires someone who is fit and healthy.

The family are here for around three weeks in the summer time and during other school holidays, although the principal can arrive at short notice when in London for business meetings.

Someone who is prepared to be flexible when the family are here. Any problems that arise, i.e electrical or plumbing issues are reported to the office which is close by, the PA is extremely nice and very helpful.

Twenty two days holiday per year.  To start September.

£550 net per week

Housekeeper live-in – Belgravia London

A housekeeper required to work for a family of four based in Belgravia, to work alongside another housekeeper/nanny.  Five and a half day week, main tasks  are general cleaning. changing beds, laundry, good ironing, polishing. There are other staff employed, cook, nanny and another housekeeper/nanny.

The hours are 7.30a.m. to 7.30pm Monday to Friday and Saturday morning, someone with a calm attitude, would suit the family well, as there are two young children.

They are a young family so it would probably suit someone under forty five although all applications are welcome.

Private accommodation provided externally in a staff house with own bedroom and shared bedroom and kitchen.

To start September.
